LUCKY...IN LOVE?
An unlikely state of affairs. For Navy SEAL Lucky O'Donlon was the original love-'em-and-leave-'em guy. Used to women swooning at his feet. So how could it be that the frustratingly attractive journalist Sydney Jameson had nothing to offer him but one very cold shoulder?
Well, two could play at this game. But first things first--he and Sydney had a job to do. They had to get their man.
Then there would be time enough for him to get his woman....

What I love about Suzanne Brockman's stories is that she captures the growing intimacy and romance of two souls, not just the physical attraction ... as well as the great alpha male hero's of her tales. I find her plots believable and interesting, for the most part. The characters stay true to who they are while allowing for growth and surprises; character consistency. Brockman is inventive; each couple in this series has a unique story. The end of Lucky' story is fitting for him. The ending made me teary.Product details

Get Lucky Tall Dark and Dangerous Book 9 edition by Suzanne Brockmann Romance eBooks Reviews
This story was vert captivatinf. The story line of the rapist had me, then Lucky wanting to protect what he loved was heartfelt even if he didn't quite know how to say the right words to make Sydney know he was serious.
I have read hundreds of these "military romances"since I got my a couple of years ago. Since I have read probably all of Suzanne Brockman's books several years ago,all the others seemed to be from a cookie cutter. I stumbled on Get Lucky and even though I read it long ago, I bought it anyway. All the "military romances" I have been reading faded into the background. I won't go into this story. Just read it. And all of the other books about the members of this Alpha team.
A lot of other reviewers have covered key points and attributes, and have rightly warned us to disregard the poor cover photo. Luke is unexpected as was this book which I now have in hard copy and audio. I read all the other books in Brockmann's two SEAL series, leaving this one by the wayside until a year of waiting for something new left me jonesing for Brockmann. I read/listened to this about 3 months ago, and am getting ready for a re-read tonite. How's that for bang for your buck?
Get this buck, light some candles and settle in for a satisfying story.
This novel involves Lucky O’Donlon, a U.S. Navy SEAL, and Sydney Jameson, a reporter, who work together to find a serial rapist. I have read a number of this author’s books, but for some reason this one did not appeal to me. I just couldn’t warm up to Lucky. He seemed too immature. For me, if I don’t’ like the protagonist, I’m pretty much guaranteed not to like the book.
This is part of a series, and while I did not like this one so much, I think other books in the series are quite good.
Before Toubleshooters, Brockmann's books about a private rescue team, she wrote about Navy SEALs. This one is about a handsome, arrogant man who is 100% committed to his team but lives on the surface romantically. Enter the heroine, an outspoken, tomboy reporter, who sneers at his lifestyle but is drawn to his loyalty. There is a violent rapist loose in s. Cal. and he might be a SEAL. These two are on the team put together to find him before he rapes again. Violence visits a SEAL wife and the close work the couple has slowly develops into genuine love. Lots of action and a man who, with his Navy brothers, show what real heroes are like. A happy ending to a very readable book.
This is one of those books that I read over and over again and just love. Not sure why, just fell in love with Luke and Syd and their story. * it was stupid, she was stupid. She'd realized it when she was having sex with the guy. The fact that she was having sex with the guy should have been a dead giveaway that she'd fallen in love in the first place but nooo...*
This is probably my favorite of Brockmann's SEAL team 10 books. You can't help but love Lucky, especially after he finishes growing up during the story. Brockmann balances the seriousness of the serial rapist's capture with humor. You also get to see previous characters one more time. Syd struggles with some insecurities but I found that to be very real. I would be out of my element in a relationship with a man who is capable of what the SEALS are expected to do. It would be a mistake for Syd's character to act as if Lucky was just like every other guy she had met. The only time that works with a hero like this is when the characters have known each other for years (Forever Blue as an example). The plot is not as gritty as her later novels and the ending is a little over the top but as a whole a good book.
